We’re looking for a technical writer to help document our next generation of scientific processing applications. The ideal candidate is excited by the prospect of learning new domain knowledge, tools and techniques, and is eager to extend these into innovative ideas of their own.
As a Technical Writer at DUG Technology, you’ll work within a world-class team of energetic problem solvers on ambitious software challenges. Guided by our agile continuous integration process, you’ll keep our official documentation in line with our flagship software product, DUG Insight. You’ll also publish how-to articles and document best practices. You’ll show initiative by taking ownership of the documentation platform and implementing continuous improvements. Your tasks:
User-facing documentation of scientific processing software
Interfacing with SMEs and stakeholders to obtain source information and media
Managing and continuously improving the documentation platform
Maintaining a professional look & feel for documentation across a variety of media
Publishing articles on our website
Becoming conversant in the problem domains of new and existing products
Providing and receiving regular, constructive feedback to and from your peers
Working with a variety of web and product publishing tools
Required:
Demonstrable expert-level skills as a technical writer for software products
Ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics or product information
Flawless written business and technical English
Impeccable professional references
Experience using the Linux shell and command-line Git
A history of work in one or more of our major focus areas, such as geoscience, scientific data processing or High-Performance Computing, will be well regarded.
